UP Vyapar Mandal reacts sharply on Stock limitation decision
Lucknow, May 10 (UNI) Reacting against the state government's decision of fixing stock limit for foodgrains, pulses and edible oils, the Uttar Pradesh Vyapar Mandal this evening said the traders will come on streets in protest, if action on any violation will be taken under the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act (ECA), 1955.
UP Vyapar Mandal president Banwari Lal Kanchan here said, '' the prices of essential commodities is rising due to wrong policies of the Central and the state government.'' ''To hide their mistakes, both the governments are now targeting traders by taking such a step,'' he charged.
The state government was trying to benefit corporate sector by fixing the stock limits of foodgrains, pulses and edible oils, Mr Kanchan alleged.
Now, the officials will take another reason to exploit traders, Mr Kanchan said, adding, ''Future Trading, Service Tax and Value Added Tax are resulting in price rise.'' The traders will agitate and took to streets, if any violation would be punishable under the provisions of the ECA.
