Panambur records 7 cm rainfall

Bangalore, May 9 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hours today.

Rainfall occurred at many places over South Interior Karnataka; at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Panambur recorded 7 cm rainfall.

Chief amounts of rainfall (cm): T.Narsipura 5; Mangalore, Mani, Periyapatna 4 each; Puttur, Sravanabelgola, Hunsur, Nanjangud, Channapatna, Bangalore AP 3 each; Mulki, Virajpet, Sargur, Pandavapura, Tiptur 2 each.

Maximum Temperatures changed little over the State They were appreciably above normal at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka and remained normal over North Interior Karnataka.

Raichur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 42.0 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Sunday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over South Interior Karnataka; at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.
