Mob kills man by mistake
Nagpur, May 9 (UNI) An angry mob today lynched a man to death mistaking him to be Dera Saccha Sauda sect's controversial chief Baba Ram Rahim by pelting stones at his vehicle near Itankar Dhaba on Bhandara road.
Members of the Sikh community had received information that Dera Saccha Sauda sect Pramukh Baba Ram Rahim would travel through the road this afternoon in a Chevrolet Tavera vehicle.
However, Baba Ram Rahim had reportedly left for Delhi by a flight, which was not known to the agitating crowd, police said.
When at around 1300 hrs, a Tavera came, the mob blocked the road and started pelting stones at the vehicle. Dinesh Sakharam Dhole, who was travelling in the vehicle, was seriously wounded. He was taken to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Central Avenue, where doctors declared him dead.
No arrests have been made so far in this connection. A case of murder has been registered at Mouda police station and further investigations are on, police added.
