40 cr dollar donation at Pashupatinath temple

Mandsaur(MP), May 9(UNI) A cheque worth one crore U S dollar was found in the donation box of the Pashupatinath temple here.

Bank of Zimbabwe cheque drawn in favour of Bhagwan Pashupatinath was found in the box yesterday as it was opened once a month.

Temple committee sources said the cheque worth more than Rs 40 crore in Indian currency had been handed over to the State Bank of Indore for verification.

Besides about Rs 1.75 lakh in cash, few Bahraini Dinars, a Hong Kong currency for 20 dollars and currency of few other countries were also found in the collection box. The temple located in opium belt in western Madhya Pradesh is frequented by non-resident Indians.
