4 looters nabbed in MP

Shivpuri, MP, May 9 (UNI) Four armed people have been arrested on the charge of planning to loot vehicles on the Agra-Mumbai National Highway in this district.

''Following a tip-off last night, Layakram, Rajkumar, Rameshwar Gurjar and Diwan Singh Gurjar were apprehended in Blukho Valley area. A sword, axe and an implement for puncturing tyres were seized,'' Superintendent of Police Dinesh Chandra Sharma said today.

The gang's kingpin, who carried a reward of Rs 5,000, escaped under cover of darkness.

Those arrested confessed to some incidents of looting vehicles on the highway. Interrogation was in progress.
