Sabeel to reach India tomorrow
London, May 7 (UNI) Dr Sabeel Ahmed, who served 18 months in prison in the UK for withholding information about his brother Kafeel Ahmed's involvement in the Glasgow Airport attack, was put on BA Flight 119 this afternoon, accompanied by three Scotland Yard detectives.
The Bangalore- bound flight is expected to land at about 0400 hrs local time tomorrow.
Sabeel was awaiting deportation to India and was under the custody of Immigration officials.
He had allegedly violated the visa rules. His visa expired in 2006 but he had stayed on. So, he was presumably handed over to the Immigration authorities after the Old Bailey court sentencing him for 18 months for ''for failing to tell police about the mission'' to bomb Glasgow airport.
Earlier, the Indian High Commission had clarified that after his release on April 11, Sabeel was a free man, he had a valid Indian passport and did not need the High Commission's approval for his return.
