Mulayam calls for 'do-or-die' battle against BSP
Lucknow, May 6 (UNI) Exuding confidence that that United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) will play a crucial role in the formation of the next government at the Centre, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh today called for a 'do-or-die' agitation for the dismissal of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government in Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing the party's state executive meeting here, Mr Yadav, who is also the chairperson of the UNPA, said it was the right time for the party to woo back the peoples support after the failure of the Congress government at the Centre and the BSP in the state.
He said the workers should commence their workout for the Lok Sabha polls immediately and go to booth level to make people aware the lapses of the Congress, BJP and BSP.
Later talking to mediapersons here, SP state working president Shivpal Singh Yadav said lawlessness was prevailing in UP and certain officials in the state bureaucracy were working as agents of the ruling BSP.
'' The do-or-die agitation would be launched immediately by the party and the SP activits would come on the roads to show their protest over the poor law and order and corruption,'' he said.
The SP state president also raised the issue of power crisis and price hike of essential commodities with blaming the state government on both the matter.
''The recent victory of the BSP in the byelections was also due to rigging and now they have targetted the voters list for the coming Lok Sabha polls,'' Mr Shivpal alleged.
He also said that the BSP goons are killing the SP activists to demoralise them before the Lok Sabha polls with giving an example of the Allahabad incident, where a SP activist was murdered by the BSP supported criminals in Meja Tehsil.
