Lokpal will investigate Police Commissioner's nexus

Bhubaneswar, May 06 (UNI) Lokpal investigation into alleged nexus between the police and criminals will also look into alleged links of Commissioner of Police B K Behera with gangster Raja.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik told newspersons today that the Lokpal would look into the matter and stringest action taken against whoever was found guilty.

Mr Patnaik said this when reporters sought his comments on reports regarding the alleged links of the gangster with the CP.

Sandeep Acharya, alias Raja, the prime accused in the murder of Biranchi Das, the coach of marathon runner Budhia, was arrested at Goa yesterday.

A police team which reached Goa this morning had already secured his transit remand. He would be brought here tomorrow.

Raja had been absconding since the murder of Biranchi Das on April 13 here.

A few days ago he was declared absconder by the court and the process for the attachment of his property was on.

His main accomplice Chagala had surrendered before the police at Bhopal earlier.
