5 Orgs demand adequate compensation to Banra's family

Bhubaneswar, May 4 (UNI) At least five organisations today demanded adequate compensation for the family members of the Visthapan Virodhi Manch leader Amin Banra, who was killed on May 1 at Kalinganagar in Jajpur district.

Lok Shakti Abhijan leader Prafulla Samnatara, CPI-ML leader Radhakant Sethi, Prashant Paikray of Loka Pakhya, CPI-ML leader Sivaram and Lok Adhikar Manch leader Mahendra Parida in a joint press conference also demanded that criminal cases be filed against Arabinda Singh, the main accused in the murder case and against the TATA company.

Amin Banra, a Vishapan Virodhi Manch leader was shot dead by the security guard of Arabinda Singh, working as a contractor for TATA, during an altercation on May 1 last.

The leaders also alleged that the district administration and the police were working as "agents of the TATA" and demanded an impartial inquiry to unearth the nexus, a necessity to restore peace in the area.
