Yet another decision of Mulayam govt reverted

Lucknow, Apr 29 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today reverted a decision of the erstwhile Mulayam Singh Yadav government to hand over a piece of land to an educational institute owned by a close relative of a former minister.

The state Cabinet today rejected the proposal for allotment of government land to Phuleshwar Devi Educational Institute of Ballia to set up their institute at village Naubastakala in Lucknow.

The Cabinet rejected the order of December 7, 2006, of the previous Samajwadi Party government alloting 2.255 hectare of land to the institute, said to be owned by a close relative of the former revenue minister of Ballia.

A government release said the decision to reject the proposal was made on the recommendation of a probe conducted by the Divisional Commissioner, Lucknow.

The probe report had recommended rejecting the proposal and returning the government land to the gram sabha.
