Policemen swallows bribe money before arrest
Hyderabad, Apr 28 (UNI) Fearing apprehension, a Sub-Inspector at Humayun Nagar police station today swallowed the currency notes taken as bribe before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught him.
Police said the official R Chandrakant Reddy took Rs 4,000 as bribe from a complainant to solve a dowry case at Humayun Nagar police station.
Noticing the ACB officials entering the station, he escaped from his office and boarded a bus from the nearby bus stop and swallowed the wads of money.
The ACB officials chased the bus and caught the accused, who was immediately admitted to Osmania General Hospital. His condition was stated to be stable.
A bribe case was registered against Reddy and he would be produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases here.
