Heat wave continues in Nashik, Jalgaon

Nashik, Apr 28 (UNI) The northern Maharashtra districts of Nashik and Jalgaon continued to reel under scorching heat wave conditions with Jalgaon city recording maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius.

Bhusawal in Jalgaon district also registered temperature of 45 degrees C, with no respite from the sweltering conditions since the past one week, official sources here said.

Malegaon in Nashik district recorded the maximum temperature of 43.7 degrees C.

There was some respite for people in Nashik city as the maximum temperature inched downwards to 37.3 degrees C after registering the highest temperature of the season at 41.4 degrees C on April 24.

People in the district bore the brunt of the scorching heat in the state with streets deserted in the afternoon as many preferred to remain indoors.

Cold drink and ice-cream outlets reported brisk business and sales of coolers also went up.
