Rahul alleges misuse of central funds
Mandla, MP, Apr 27 (UNI) Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, who is on a 'Discover India' campaign, today alleged that massive funds being sent by the Centre for the employment, education and health sectors were not reaching the needy.
''The situation has been created due to improper implementation of centrally-sponsored schemes and because a Congress government is not in power in Madhya Pradesh,'' he said at a 'Yuva Sammelan' organised at this tribal-dominated district's Ramnagar by the Nehru Yuva Kendra.
Claiming that his endeavour was to understand the problems of his tribal ''brothers and sisters'' and to ''serve'' them, the Amethi MP issued a clarion call to youth to become politically active so that they could play a better role in the country's development.
''A demand has been made to the Prime Minister for social audit of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme,'' added Mr Gandhi who visited the Gond-era Moti Mahal before leaving for Katni district.
