BJP Kerala Vice-President hurt in tent collapse

Kochi, Apr 26 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party Kerala Vice-President V Muraleedharan received a slight injury on his head when a 'pandal' put up as part of a party function, attended by Leader of the Opposition L K Advani, partially collapsed in heavy rainfall here this afternoon.

The 'pandal' had been put up at a hotel here to serve lunch to the delegates of an SC/ST leaders' meeting convened by the BJP in Kerala.

Mr Advani, who had already left the venue, had in fact not entered the tent as the state police had not cleared it due to security reasons.

As the pillars supporting the tent bent perilously to one side under the weight of the rain water, the delegates rushed out. In the melee, the glass pane of a door was broken and a glass piece hit Mr Muraleedharan on the head, resulting in a slight injury.

Mr Muraleedharan was reported to be alright after first aid.
