Attack on Hindi-speaking people will not be tolerated: Ahmad
Patna, Apr 26 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Shakeel Ahmad today categorically stated that the Centre will not tolerate attacks on the Hindi-speaking people in some parts of the country.
Addressing a function at the office of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) here, Mr Ahmad said the Centre would protect the right of the people to earn their livelihood in any part of the country without discrimination.
'' If such incidents of infringment on the rights of the citizens to earn livelihood take place in any part of the country, the concerned state government will have the constitutional duty to safeguard their interests, '' he said.
In the event of the failure of the state government, the Centre would not hesitate to step in for protecting the fundamental rights of earning the livelihood, he added.
Mr Ahmad said Biharis and other Hindi-speaking people of the country were meritorius as several IAS and IPS officers posted in different parts of the country belonged to Bihar.
He said any attempt to deny the rights of the Hindi-speaking people would be against the unity and integrity of the country.
