The event was held as a part of the ongoing 12-day annual 'Chithirai Brahmotsavam' of the ancient Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple in the heritage city.
The decorated idol of Lord Sundararaja Perumal, popularly known as 'Lord Kallazhagar,' draped in 'Green Silk' and mounted on the 'Thanga Kuthirai Vahanam' (Golden Horse) was taken out in a procession, entering the river Vaigai.
