Congress accuses CPM of working against the rich
Barrackpore, Apr 20 (UNI) Pradesh Congress working president Pradip Bhattacharya today charged the ruling CPI(M) in West Bengal with working for the rich and depriving the poor.
''Nandigram and Singur have proved this,'' he added.
Inaugurating a couple of local party office buildings, Mr Bhattacharya alleged that the CPI(M) led government had deprived the poor of the state by sending back a substantial unspent amount for various poverty alleviation schemes, sanctioned by the Centre.
''This is a vindictive and discriminatory role of the red party,'' he claimed and said the Congress, which followed Mahatma Gandhi's ideology, never discriminated against the poor.
