Chinese workers asked to leave after stay permits expire

Bikaner, Apr 18 (UNI) Around 200 Chinese employees, working at the Guda Lignite Power Project in the Nokha region of the district, have been asked to leave as their stay permits have expired.

Circle Officer Adarsh Chaudhary today said that on a complaint of overstay by these employees, a police party yesterday visited the project site and inquired about their permits.

Mr Chaudhary said as the permits granted by the Indian government allowing their stay in the district had expired last month, they were asked to leave the place.

A Chinese Company has been working on installation related works for the power project and its Chinese staff required the government's permission to work on the project.

Meanwhile, the Company's officials are making efforts, seeking an extension of the permits to enable them to stay in the district.
