Australian government organises workshop in Kolkata
Kolkata, Apr 18 (UNI) With a view to focussing on mine rehabilitation, closure and completion, the Australian government (Department of Resources, Energy&Tourism) organised a workshop here today.
The two-day workshop is being organised in the city as 'The Coal Mining Taskforce' of the Australia Pacific Partnership (APP) had endorsed a proposal for Australia to facilitate and conduct a sustainable development workshop in India.
The aim of the workshop is to exchange experiences and improve understanding of leading practices for sustainable development and approaches to coal mining and reclamation activities in APP countries.
Professionals from a number of companies including Coal India Limited, Japan Coal Energy Centre, Hindustan Copper and IIT, Kharagpur are participating in the workshop.
