New award instituted for arts, culture
Kottayam, Apr 16 (UNI) The T K Memorial Cultural Study Centre has instituted an award in the name of former Kerala minister and CPI(M) leader T K Ramakrishnan to honour those contributing immensely to the field of art, culture and literature.
Announcing this at a news conference here today, CPI(M) District Secretary K J Thomas said the award, carrying a cash prize of Rs one lakh and a citation, would be given once in two years.
A seminar would be held here on April 21, the second death anniversary of Mr Ramakrishnan.
