4000 children from Delhi schools to welcome Olympic Torch

New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) About 4000 children from schools across Delhi will welcome the Olympic Torch when it arrives here tomorrow.

The children from Delhi schools will be present at Rajpath where the main function to greet the Olympic Torch will be held, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said.

''About 4000 children from various schools in Delhi have been invited to participate in the function to mark the arrival of the Olympic torch here,''the Chief Minister said.

However, while the children will participate in the installation of the torch, they will not take part in its 2.5 km run in the Capital city, Ms Dikshit said.

''The Children will not be taking part in the march as it is quite hot outdoors,''she said.

She said the Delhi Government has organised a musical programme at the venue of the main function which will have performances by several artists.
