BJP objects to writing on Judge's remark
Hyderabad, Apr 12 (UNI) The Opposition BJP in Andhra Pradesh today strongly objected the state government writing to the Chief Justice of India on the remarks reportedly made by High Court Judge A Gopal Reddy while hearing a petition on land encroachments.
Talking to newspersons here, senior BJP leader and Former Union Minister Ch Vidyasagar Rao said, ''it was not proper on the part of the Congress government to ''confront'' the judiciary.'' ''The ruling Congress had misused the Legislative Assembly to make uncalled for comments against the judiciary. It is a fact that the Government itself is a ''big encroacher'','' he claimed.
He suggested that the government should augment drinking water supply from the Kantalapalli project by tapping 250 tmc water draining into the sea, instead of bringing 7.5 tmc water to the city from the Yellampalli project, which would only benefit contractors.
He also urged the government to implement the third phase of the Krishna project to augment drinking water supply to the city.
