My son innocent, I want Sabeel back: Mother
Bangalore, Apr 11 (UNI) The mother of Sabeel Ahmed, the Indian doctor working in London, who pleaded guilty of suppressing information on the Glasgow airport attack last year, said here today that her son was innocent and she wanted him to return.
Sabeel (26), a National Health Service doctor is the brother of Kafeel Ahmed, who was responsible for the bomb attack on Glasgow airport in 2007.
Kafeel had driven a blazing Charokee Jeep laden with explosives into the airport and was killed in the incident.
The doctor's mother, Zakia Ahmed, when contacted said, ''He is innocent. I am sure he will come back soon. I want him to come back to Bangalore soon.'' She said the family continued to be in touch with another doctor, Mohammad Haneef, who was arrested and later released in connection with the same case in Australia. ''Haneef is a family friend. We are in touch with him as well as his family,'' she said.
The parents of Sabeel, both medical doctors, live in Banashankari area in the city.
