NMCE launches new contracts in Guar seed, Soyoil, Turmeric

Ahmedabad, Apr 10 (UNI) The National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) today launched new series for futures contract in Guar seed, Soyoil, Turmeric and Chana.

The new series in Guar Seed (10MT), Soyoil (10 MT) and Turmeric 'August-2008 contracts' will expire on August 20, while the delivery period for each will begin three days prior to that on August 18, an NMCE release said here today.

The new series in Chana, called September-2008 contract, will expire on September 20, the delivery period beginning on September 17.

The basis delivery centre for Guar seed is at Deesa (Gujarat), Soyoil at Indore, Turmeric basis centre is at Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) warehouse at Erode (Tamil Nadu) and also Nizamabad (Andhra Pradesh), and for Chana it is at CWC Delhi.

At present, NMCE is running futures contracts in 113 series in 28 commodities, notably rubber, pepper, cardamom, raw jute, sacking, copra, isabgul, menthol crystal, metals, castor seed, other oilseeds and their derivatives, the release added.
