Jitin Prasada takes charge; says steel price rise is worrying
New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) Newly-inducted Minister of State for Steel Jitin Prasada today said the rise in prices of steel is a matter of concern.
Noting that while demand was rising there was a shortage in supply, he said, "the government will do everything to protect the interest of the poor and ordinary people." Mr Jitin Prasada was talking to newspersons here after formally taking over as the Minister of State for Steel. Earlier on his arrival in the Ministry, he was welcomed by Steel Secretary R S Pandey and senior officers.
Elected to the Lok Sabha from the Shahjahanpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh, Mr Prasada is one of the youngest to be included in the Council of Ministers.
Born in 1973, Mr Prasada, an MBA, was educated at Sri Ram College of Commerce and IMI, Delhi. He is a member of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Civil Aviation Ministry and Committee on Petitions and Committee on Information Technology and Communications.
