India, China, Russia unanimous in favour of multi-polar world
New Delhi, Mar 27 (UNI) India, Russia and China have unanimity of views on the need for a multi-polar world and political and economic issues in the current global situation, Secretary (East) in the External Affairs Ministry N Ravi said here today.
''There are convergence among the three countries in understanding the political and economic aspects of the current global situation.
There is similarity of views on the importance of multilateralism and emergence of a multi-polar world order,'' Mr Ravi said in his inaugural address at a seminar on 'Evolution of geo-political strategic trends'.
Pointing out that energy security, counter-terrorism, disarmament and sustainable development were some important issues confronting the world, he said, ''shared views'' of the three nations were becoming increasingly relevant in the fast changing international political scenario.
Stressing the need for closer coordination between the three countries for promoting business, Mr Ravi said they together form trillion dollar economies , therefore, business engagements were important for growth of ties.
''We would like to see this business interaction driven by commercial interest become an important feature and empowering factor for the trilateral relationship," he said.
