HC grants govt 3-months to evict encroachers
Kochi, Mar 27 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today granted three more months to the State Government to evict tribal encroachers from the Chengala estate land of Harrisons Malayalam company in Pathanamthitta district.
The Court had ealier directed the government to evict the encroachers by March seven without bloodshed.
Seeking three more months' time, an affidavit filed by the additional secretary, Home Department, said that it was not possible to evict the encroachers without bloodshed.
A Division Bench comprising Mr Justice K Balakrishnan Nair and Mr Justice P N Ravindran allowed three months' time from March six.
The Court also clarified that no further time would be granted.
