9 officials suspended, 9 traders arrested in south Kashmir
Srinagar, Mar 26 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended nine officials for remaining absent from duty while as many traders were arrested for selling commodities on higher rates in south Kashmir today.
Official sources said Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, conducted surprise visits to various offices in temple town of Mattan in south Kashmir.
During the checks, nine officials of Health and Education Department were found absent from duty.
The DC later ordered suspension of the officials.
In a separate incident, a market checking party, headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner, during patrolling arrested nine vegetable sellers for selling commodities on higher rates.
A huge quantity of substandard and rotten fruits and vegetables were also destroyed on spot.
