Paddy crops in 1,500 acres damaged in Perambalur dist
Perambalur, Mar 25 (UNI) Standing paddy crops in 1,500 acres were badly damaged by rains in this district, according to preliminary estimate.
Official sources said the Agriculture department and Revenue officials were assessing the extent of area damaged to crops by the rain.
In a press release here today, Perambalur District Collector Anil Meshram, urged the farmers to inform the officials of the Agriculture, Horticulture or Revenue departments on the extent of damage caused to their crops.
He said a detailed report would be submitted to the State Government and adequate compensation would be disbursed to the farmers, once the government released the funds.
