Well known film dialogue writer passes away
Chennai, Mar 22 (UNI) Noted dialogue writer Prasanna Kumar, who had written dialogues for nearly 100 films, died here today, after a prolonged illness.
Kumar (49) was suffering from a liver ailment for quite sometime. His end came at his residence in Mylapore.
Kumar started his career with the hit film ''Palaivana Solai'' in early 1980s and had penned dialogues for popular films like ''Kreedam'', ''Run'', ''Youth'', ''Shajahan'', ''Thulladha Manamum Thullum'' and ''Pennin Manadhai Thottu''.
He was a close friend of renowned comedian Vivek and had written lines for him in more than 50 films.
He has also worked in films ''Singakutty'' and ''Sandai'', which hit the theatres yesterday.
Prasanna Kumar was a recipient of the Tamil Nadu government award and was also working for ''Jeyamkondan'', a film currently under production.
Several film artistes, including Vivek, paid homage at Prasanna Kumar's residence.
