3 tribal children buried in landslide
Kalpetta, Kerala, Mar 22 (UNI) Three tribal children were buried alive in a landslide caused by incessant rain in Wayanad district of Kerala today.
Police said Ranjit (nine), Sivan (seven) and Muthu Krishnan (12) of different tribal colonies in the district were killed when earth caved in on them while they were engaged in fishing in river Varadoor.
A report from Kannur said three people were injured when a portion of their house collapsed in Thakkaikunnu-Attadapa near Thazhe Chowa. The injured were identified as K Raman kutty (43), his wife Mary Fernandez (38) and grandson Shijin (10).
In another incident, eight people were injured when the roof of a house collapsed at Thaliparambu in Kannur district.
