Rahul meets PM to discuss NREGA
New Delhi, Mar 21 (UNI) AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and discussed the possibilities of the effective implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), ahead of its extension to all the districts in the country.
Mr Gandhi suggested Dr Singh to adopt the sucessful Andhra Pradesh model of the implementation of the act in other parts of the country.
Mr Gandhi also reportedly discussed several other issues including price rise.
The extention of NREGA to 506 districts from the present 306 districts was announced in the Union Budget for 2008-09.
