Lady naib tehsildar tries to commit suicide

Sangrur, Mar 21 (UNI) A lady Naib Tehsildar today made a futile attempt to end her life by slashing her wrist at her residence in Malerkotla town of this district.

Neighbours however rushed the revenue officer, Jaspal Kaur to the civil hospital, thereby saving her life.

In her statement to the police she alleged that certain senior officials of her department had made advances at her. However when she refused to oblige them, allegations were leveled against her and her salary was stopped.

In her statement she claimed that she had not been paid her salary for the last couple of months. The police on the statement has registered a case and begun an inquiry. No arrests had been made so far and the state revenue department has been ifnormed of the matter.
