Flood warning issued to 5 southern districts in TN

Theni, Tamil Nadu, Mar 21 (UNI) A flood warning has been issued to five southern districts of Tamil Nadu in the wake of rising water level in Vaigai dam here today.

Official sources said the level stood at 66.5 feet this evening as against its full capacity of 72 feet.

They said preparations were on to release water from the dam once the level touched 70 feet.

Meanwhile, the inflow into the dam was 5,200 cusecs.

People residing on the banks of river Vaigai were advised to move to safer locations, the sources added.
