BJP will win Assembly elections in Karnataka: Jaitley
Bangalore, Mar 21 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Arun Jaitley, who is now appointed as the party election in-charge for coming Karnataka elections, today expressed confidence of party winning the elections and come to power on its own.
"Suspension of election is nothing but suspension of democracy and I am confident this will not happen any longer. Election Commission will uphold the constitutional validity", he said saying that elections would be held as early as May.
Spreaking to the press here he said the aim of the Congress, which badly lost in the last elections held in 2004, was bent somehow to save its face by seeking postponement of the polls.
"Though the situation of Congress is understandable in democracy it cannot happen. We hope Election Commission will announce the dates for elections to dissolved assembly at the earliest and end President rule by installing a popular government," he added.
He said that the party would come out with campaign strategy in the next couple of days after discussing the issues to be taken up during the campaign.
"We will unfold the campaign strategy and put in place logistical requirements to the manage the campaign", he added.
He said that betrayal of the BJP by JD(S) and its political immorality, which had hurt the people of Karnataka, will be taken up as a plank in the elections, he said.
