Bihar bootleggers kill two near Patna

Patna, Mar 21 (UNI) Two brothers, who refused to work under a bootlegger at Fatehpur near here, were beaten to death by the goons of a mafia gang today.

Police said the incident took place when the two brothers were asked to work under the bootlegger and be a part of an expanding business of the local mafia.

But when both brothers flatly refused the offer, they were called out from their house at Fatehpur area, about 15 km from here, this morning on the pretext of playing Holi.

Later, their bodies were discovered from a deserted spot with marks of injuries.

The doctors pronounced both brothers 'brought dead' when they were taken to a nearby hospital.

Local police lodged a case of murder and search was on to nab the killers, though none had so far been arrested.

Barring this, there was no report of any other incident in connection with Holi as elaborate security arrangements had been made by the state authorities to ensure peaceful celebration of the festival, slated for tomorrow in the state, along with most parts of the country.
