3 held on extortion charges

Hyderabad, Mar 21 (UNI) Three people, including two former naxals were arrested for attempted extortion and robbery in the city last night.

According to police, the accused Bhemagani Sammaiah, Gunti Bikshapathi and A Mallikarjun Shatry had made several attempts to extort money from businessmen in Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Warangal districts.

The police recovered one country-made fire arm and two cell phones from the accused.
