Trains cancelled/rescheduled following derailment
Madurai, Mar 20 (UNI) The Southern Railways announced the cancellation/rescheduling of various express and passenger trains following the derailment of Madurai-Kollam passenger train between Valliyur and Aralvaimozhi in Tamil Nadu, early today.
Railway sources said the Tirunelveli - Nagercoil Passenger, scheduled to leave Tirunelveli at 0700 hrs, was cancelled.
The Nagercoil- Mumbai CST Express, scheduled to leave Nagercoil at 0450 hrs, was rescheduled to leave at 0700 hrs, and diverted via Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Shoranur, Erode, Jolarpet and Arakkonam.
The Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore Express was partially cancelled between Tirunelveli-Kanniyakumari, the Coimbatore-Nagercoil Express between Tirunelveli-Nagercoil, the Nagercoil-Coimbatore Express was partially cancelled between Nagercoil-Vanchi Maniyachchi, the Chennai Egmore-Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Egmore Ananthapuri Express was partially cancelled between Tirunelveli and Thiruvananthapuram.
The Mumbai-Nagercoil Express would be terminated at Tirunelveli junction.
The Guruvayur-Chennai Egmore Kudal Express was partially cancelled between Nagercoil and Tiruchirapalli.
The Nagercoil-Coimbatore Passenger was partially cancelled between Nagercoil and Madurai.
