State secretariat employees mourn Pandey's death

Ranchi, Mar 20 (UNI) Employees of Jharkhand secretariate today mourned the death of Bhrigu Pandey, who succumbed to his burn injuries yesterday.

Pandey, a fourth grade employee in the secretariat, was fighting for life for the past 13 days at Safderjang hospital in New Delhi.

On March 7, Pandey along with two other associates immolated himself in front of state secretariate demanding promotion under Assured Career Promotion scheme and other benefits.

While the other two received minor injuries, Pandey was shifted to the national capital after his condition deteriorated here.

Meanwhile, agitated over his death, various employees associations had announced to disrupt the functioning of government offices today.
