Russia condemns resurgence of violence in Iraq
Moscow, Mar 20 (UNI) Russia today strongly condemned the resurgence of violence in Iraq.
Over 100 people have been killed in the last two weeks in a series of bomb and mortar attacks throughout Iraq.
''Moscow resolutely denounces any manifestations of terrorism, whatever motives the masterminds and organisers of these crimes may invoke to justify them,'' Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mikhail Kamynin said.
Mr Kamynin said the latest eruption of violence coincided with the fifth anniversary of the US-led invasion on Iraq.
He expressed Russia's condolences to the relatives of those killed in the recent violence.
The spokesperson said the Iraqi people possessed the ability to prevent a full-scale national catastrophe and ensure peace, stability and order in their country without outside interference.
