Rs 10 lakh corpus fund for Media fraternity
Itanagar, Mar 20 (UNI) The state government today announced a corpus fund of Rs 10 lakh to supplement the need of the mediapersons in times of distress.
Announcing this in the Assembly during the Budget discussion, Finance Minister Kalikho Pul stated that Chief Minster Dorjee Khandu had approved the proposal and the amount would be routed through Directorate of Information and Public Relations (IPR), the nodal department for the Fourth Estate.
The Itanagar Press Club and Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists had repeatedly pleaded the state government for creating such a fund which would help the journalist in need.
