About 1000 poultry birds culled so far, operation to continue
Malda, Mar 20 (UNI) At least 1,000 poultry birds have so far been culled in the operation that began today in this district of West Bengal.
Reports of test samples sent to Bhopal's High Security Animal Diseases Laboratory, about eight days back, returned today, with District Animal Development Officer M K Sit deciding to begin the culling operation the same day.
At least 752 birds have died in the district's Englishbazar area and Harishchandrapur block since the time the bird flu virus was detected here once again.
The culling operation is due to continue throughout the night, Mr Sit said.
The district administration had also prohibited sale of poultry birds and eggs.
