Three killed, one injured in two accidents
Phagwara, Mar 19 (UNI) Three people were killed, including two women, while a child was injured, in two seperate road accidents near here today.
According to police sources, Surinder Kumar (30) of Rahon and his wife Jasbir Kaur were killed on the spot while their three-year-old son Gurwinder had a narrow escape, when the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by a speeding jeep on Phagwara-Banga Bypass near Khalwara turn this morning. The injured child was admitted to local civil hospital.
The sources said that police had arrested the driver of the jeep, Paramjit Singh and had also impounded the jeep.
The bodies were handed over to the families of the deceased after conducting postmorterm examination in civil hospital.
In second mishap, a woman, Harbhajan Kaur, resident of Sarhala Ranua village was killed on the spot when she was hit by a vehicle near Beesla village on Phagwara-Banga road.
