Administration removes Godess Durga Idol from disputed land
Gorakhpur, Mar 19 (UNI) The district administration removed the idol of Godess Durga from a disputed land in Khoravar area here.
According to police today, two groups had a dispute over a piece of land at Maheva village. The locals claimed there was a pond on the spot and the land belonged to gram sabha.
Whereby, in order to save the land from being grabbed, the locals last night installed the idol of Godess Durga, which was later removed by the district administration.
Meanwhile, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) had been garrisoned to avert any untoward incident in the area.
