Asvini holds 64th Bombay Medical Congress
Mumbai, Mar 15 (UNI) The 64th Annual Conference of the Bombay Medical Congress was today inaugurated by Lt Gen Yogendra Singh, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services and Senior Colonel Commandant at the Naval Hospital ''Asvini'', here in Colaba.
The Conference was attended by a large number of senior medical officers of the Armed Forces as well as eminent physicians from the metropolis.
Bombay Medical Congress president Jyoti Taskar emphasised on the progress made by the Congress and its impact on concerted efforts by the civil and defence medical fraternity to improve medical care and education.
The prestigious Western Naval Command Oration was delivered by Lt Gen Singh on ''Training and Attributes of a Military Surgeon'' at the Conference.
A special felicitation was held on the occasion to confer the status of President Emeritus (Defence Services) to Surgeon Vice Admiral (Retd) V K Singh for his outstanding contribution to the Congress in his association with it over the last three decades.
