US should not preach Human rights to India: Yechury
Bhubaneswar, Mar 14 (UNI) CPI(M) Politburo member Sitaram Yechury today criticised the US for its statement on human rights violation in Nandigram in West Bengal.
''The United States should not preach human rights violation to India as it had killed around five lakh people in Iraq,'' he said while addressing a rally organised by the state unit of the Party.
Mr Yechury said by raising the issue, the US had poked its nose in the internal affairs of the country before signing the nuclear deal. ''One could imagine what would happen after the deal was signed,'' he noted.
