TAAI to hold its 57th Indian Travel Congress in London
Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) will hold its 57th Indian Travel Congress in London from September 26 to 29.
In the past, the travel congress was held outside India on nine occasions with the destinations being Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. TAAI Convention Chairperson Shubhada Joshi told UNI that London wanted to host the Congress in view of the increasing number of Indian visitors to the UK.
She said the outbound tourists from India were on the increase when compared to tourists visiting the country and a number of European destinations were keen to attract Indian tourists.
Normally, the Congress attracted around 1500 delegations and the initial response is very good, she added.
Airlines flying to London will be offering exciting fares for the Congress as they too feel that this was a great opportunity for them to showcase their products to the agents' community, she added.
She said TAAI was extremely happy to lead the historic tourism initiative between the two countries, by bringing together all major stake holders in Tourism on one platform during the congress.
