Three murdered on suspicion of practising black magic

Baripada, Mar 12 (UNI) Three members of a family were murdered in Ranibhol village under Thakurmunda Police station of Myurbhanj district, about 185 km from here, on the suspicion of practising black magic.

Police today said they recovered the bodies of Samu Sai (50) his wife Kandila (42) and son Bijoy (13) from the Asankudar Forest Block this morning.

The bodies were found during a search operation after a missing report was lodged with the police station on Sunday last.

Police suspected that all the victims were throttled to death and then their bodies were thrown in the forest.

Five people were arrested in connection with the gruesome murder.

All the accused happened to be nephews of victim Somu Sai.

During the interrogation, the accused had admitted killing the three suspecting them of practising witchcraft, police said.
