IAF, CISF personnel deployed at Begumpet airport
Hyderabad, Mar 12 (UNI) As many as 40 personnel of Indian Air Force and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) were deployed at Begumpet airport to meet manpower shortage in the wake of airport employees' strike today.
Talking ot UNI here, Begumpet Airport Authority of India (AAI) Director R K Singla said of the 425 airport staff, 250, including permanent and casual labourers, were on strike.
He said the strike had not affected any flight operations. All the flights were arriving and departing as per schedule.
The airport was equipped to deal with the crisis, he said.
However, passengers complained that they were facing problems in moving their luggage inside the airport.
