Woman murdered in broad daylight

Madurai, Mar 8 (UNI) In a daring daylight crime, a 30-year-old woman was brutally murdered by an unidentified man in an ice-cream parlour at Anna Nagar, here today.

Police sources said D Malarvizhi Devi, mother of two-children, was separated from her husband due to family quarrel and was living with her parents.

She was working in an ice-cream parlour. There was an altercation between Malarvizhi and the unidentified man in the shop, who suddenly pounced on her, slit her throat and escaped from the scene.

She died on the way to hospital.

Based on the information, a police team rushed to the spot and held inquiries. Sniffer dog was pressed into service.

A case had been registered and investigation was, underway, sources added.
